More than I thought it to be

When we talk about the Church, there is an important Greek word that inevitably comes up – koinonia. Most of the time it’s translated as “fellowship”.

Fellowship.

Take a minute, or five, and close your eyes. Think about fellowship. What is it? What does it look like? How does it manifest? Please do this before you continue reading.

Now, let me share with you a few more words. Words that, in addition to fellowship, flesh out the whole meaning of koinonia.

Sharing.

Partnership.

Participation.

Contribution.

Communion.

Does the addition of these words change the way you think about Christian koinonia, or fellowship?

Think on it.
